    Job Description

    Role & responsibilities

     

    The purpose of the role is to timely and accurately complete payroll in coordination with Head Payroll & Compliances on a monthly basis. The role incumbent is expected to work closely with finance and respective payroll partner for timely inputs and reports.

     

    Key Job Responsibilities

     

    Overall record management

    • Maintain employee database monthly as per the salary structure and attendance and ensure confidentiality of the same
    • Keeps abreast of the payroll processing system and changes in wage/tax laws, and applies changes as appropriate
    • Prepare and process statements of payment
    • Prepare and execute taxes and payment of employee benefits
    • Prepares follow-up for Stop Payment requests, manual check requests, and associated system updates
     

    Monthly payroll processing for all employees

    • Process the payroll for all employees and share with the payroll partner on a monthly basis
    • Verify, calculate and update salary sheet with regards to any amendment on a monthly basis
    • Ensure confidentiality in processing salaries of all employees
     

    Mange internal & external stakeholders

    • Responds to questions regarding pay policies/procedures
    • Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with customers, both internal and external
    • Answer employees' questions about payroll
    • Compile key operational payroll metrics & dashboards
    • Prepare periodic payroll reconciliation and submit reports to the payroll manager for review

    Position Purpose

    We are looking for a knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to process and manage the company’s payroll. You will be the one to calculate wages based on hours worked and administer payments.A payroll specialist is able to use payroll software with accuracy and efficiency. They are good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information. They also have great communication skills to interact with colleagues and executives.The goal is to ensure personnel receives the correct compensation in a timely manner.

    Primary Responsibility

    1. Gather information on hours worked for each employee

    2. Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a computer system

    3. Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed

    4. Prepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecks

    5. Administer statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paper

    6. Process taxes and payment of employee benefits

    7. Keep track of hour rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.

    8. Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors

    9. Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.

    Competency / Skills

    1. Proven experience as payroll specialist or payroll manager

    2. Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices

    3. Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field

    4. Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Kronos, Payforce) and databases

    5. Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality

    6. Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail

    7. Excellent communication skills
